I tried to this procedure and now i have not the error “No audio output device” and i can see the sound activity, but still have no sound. On my PC it was F10 but it usually says what to press at the bottom of the screen during start up. No sound controller in device manager and other problems. This topic has been archived. Tried Uninstalling the ATI one and re-installing it to no avail, it showed in the audip but I couldn’t select it so still had the red cross. In the driver list, select the name of the sound adapter installed on the system.

By the way HP, the Conexant website says that they do not supply drivers even though they make the chipsets “at the request of the OEM’s. Hello was there any solution to this problem as I have the dv and have the exact same problem? First you need 2 files which ironically enough come from HP, they are SP Select “Sound, audio and game controllers”, then “Conexant”, then “Have Disk”.

Maybe the user “stones” is right about “solder joint” and “reflowing” but to me it is a “suicide mission”. I subsequently have found the 32 bit drivers and the procedure should be very similar except the files are SP We do not have the point no.

In the Start search box, type recovery. However, I then manually installed the Conexant drivers as follows and voila I had sound, nice crisp clear sound. I have the feeling that the constant overheating have something to do with it. This resets the audio settings and reinitializes the sound configuration.
